Tree Change – Riverside Lifestyle Property
From the people that developed River Rocks:
“Living in Sydney we searched for an ideal lifestyle property within reach of Sydney. We wanted permanent flowing water and access to a National Park and/or State Forest.
When we discovered the Barrington Tops area of the Mid North Coast New South Wales we were sold. After looking at many properties over three years we finally found this idyllic lifestyle property.
We discovered our riverside lifestyle property near Upper Monkerai, on the Upper Karuah River, in the Great Lakes Shire, and bought the property in 1978.
We camped at weekends and holidays from 1978 until 2000 when the first stage of our home was built beside the river.”
The property is on the beautiful Karuah River with direct access to the Chichester State Forest which leads onto the world heritage Barrington Tops area.
River Rocks is the first privately owned property from the headwaters of the Karuah River. The water is pristine and is the home to platypus, native bass and fresh water crayfish.
There is a deep swimming area in the river a few metres from the house and a little further down-stream is a very private beautiful little pool very suitable for swimming. Native bass can be found in the many rock pools along the river.
The 55.2 hectares includes some river flats, mostly native forest with formed tracks ideal for bush walking, horse riding, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving.
The property is a 40 minute drive to a pleasant country town with 2 primary schools, a high school (school bus service). The main northern railway line runs through the town with the station a short stroll from the shopping centre.
There is an abundance of wild life around the home including wallabies, kangaroos, goanna lizards, potoroos, bandicoots, possums, spotted quolls and an occasional koala. The bird life is truly wonderful.
